GUARD

 

The Maypearl Guard Program is designed to focus on body movement, flag, rifle and sabre fundamentals.  Through instruction and show design, each guard member in the ensemble can be assured that they are being taught the art form in a professional manner.

 

Along side the Varsity Marching Band, the Colorguard is an audition only group that rehearses and performs during football season and performs at Marching Contests througout late September and the month of October.  The main focus of the Marching Band is to prepare for Region UIL competition each year.  (August-November)

 

After the marching season is over, the guard program continues through the Winterguard as they rehearse after school and perform at Competitions in the NTCA circuit throughout January, February and March. 

 

Student skills are maintained by being involved in both Colorgaurd and Winterguard ensembles.
